1.08.339 T-30 Confederate 10dollar note dated 1861. Scarce early Confederate note The center vignette is called "Sweat Potato Dinner", with it being served to British General Gates during the Revolutionary War. The note has small portions of the upper corners missing and there are some pinholes noted when held up to light. Otherwise the printed and written ink is easily read. This is the second series of this note without the engraver's name. According to Criswell's book it's stated that General Gates remarked during this meal that, "We'll never get them to surrender as they live on tree roots in the swamps." There is no back mark.

Really cool display of South Carolina fractional notes dated 1863. The sheet remains intact, though the far right column is being held to the main body by the 5cent note in the center alone. The entire sheets measures 7.5-inches x 16-inches and I have it displayed in a 12x16inch ryker case (which will come with the grouping for shipping). All of the note’s color is vivid and easily read as is both the printed and inked writing. All of the notes are signed and is the type that has the red inked denomination on the back. These are fairly common notes found individually, but rarely seen in a sheet such as this. Priced as is, you’re only paying $31.25per note. One thing I never noticed about these notes until I had seen them all together like this is the difference’s in the arching “State of South Carolina” over the palmetto tree.
