Model No. 2 Army Smith & Wesson in fair condition. The metal has a nice gun metal gray tone throughout with no pitting noted. The serial number is 44524 in which the walnut grips are stamped as well. The action is a little loose, while the cylinder does index with the hammer pull, it does not stay at full cock. The hammer tip is chipped off. The cylinder markings can be seen. The cylinder rod is a replacement. You can clearly see the Smith & Wesson mark on the top of the barrel. The serial number range puts the manufacturer date just after the civil war, so it did not see use during the war.
