A nice looking early pattern enlistedman's waist belt rig with US belt plate. The buff leather is in over all good condition and is still for the most part pliable. It lays nicely for display. What's cool about this one is that its in overall great condition, but not mint as it shows signs of wear and use. From the nicks and mars in the buff leather to the adjustment holes being out of shape, this one has the 'been there' look.

The belt plate is a nice non-dug US puppy paw buckle which is just remarkable. This is just a really nice rig to put with that early Western Federal display. This belt rig was published in the article, "The Strange History of Buff Leather - Its Origins and Military Applications", Spring Volume 68:1 Company of Military Historians by David Jarnigan.

Price: $450.00 USD (Sale Pending)
