Here is an impressive .70cal French single shot percussion pistol produced in the famous French town of St. Etienne from 1806-1818. The iron is smooth throughout with a dark gun metal gray tone. The action works and the hammer pulls back to half and full cock. The wood grip and stock are in good condition and contrast nicely with the overall look of the gun. It retains the ram rod - which is most likely a replacement.

Lockplate is marked "Manifacture Imperiale de S. Etienne" which means Saint Etienne Imperial Manufacture. Opposite on the flat is carved "D/19". Cool pre-civil war European weapon.
