Below is a gem sized ambrotype in a half leatherette case believe to be that of John Weidemeyer. It has been with the grouping since day one and has a faint initial in the back of the case. It is of him in civilian dress and could either be pre or post war.

Below is a pretty good scan of what was printed in the St. Clair Co. Democrat Newspaper. This is the only page that came with the grouping. There are two smaller typed papers with regards to his family history and background both before and after the war which is a nice snapshot of his life.
