Here is a .58cal cartridge box manufactured by Sickles of St. Louis, Missouri. The leather is still supple and as you can see does have some buildup. All major components are present including the belt loops, finial, tab closure, both shoulder strap buckles, and inner flap. The metal tins are not present. The outer flap’s ears are present and worn. You can see the faint marking of the Sickles stamp on the inner flap, which is the early mark. The stitching is solid throughout with the exception of the ears as mentioned above. You can also see where it was cut for a US box plate, so if you have a non-dug specimen, it would top this piece off. The cuts are 2.5inches apart.
