M1843 Single Shot Pistol by H. Aston

Fine example of a M1842 single shot pistol by H. Aston of Middleton, Ct dated 1847. The metal is smooth throughout with some modeling noted. The lock plate is marked 'US / H Aston' and behind the hammer 'MIDDtn / CONN / 1847' behind the hammer. The action is tight and crisp.
The walnut stock is in good condition with no repairs or damage noted. There is a memory of the inspector's cartouche on the flat opposite of the lock plate. The only apology is somewhere along the line is a '1S SCV' carved in the bottom of the stock. Still displays very nicely.
