One of my favorite weapons that would be manufactured during the American Civil War - the Spencer Rifle. This .52cal lever action rifle in is overall good - attic condition. The iron is smooth throughout with some modeling noted over a plum brown patina. On the top of the breech you can see the Spencer Address stamping and on the block the SN 6708. This puts it early in production for the rifles. The action works perfectly and the hammer responds to the trigger. The barrel is full length with some nice rifling.

The stock is in great condition with no damage or cracks, repairs noted. There is some nice wear noted indicating use and most likely mounted use. It has the original and correct loading tube. There is no cartouche noted which is not uncommon for these rifles as many were private purchase by some of the units that used them initially - Wilder's Brigade is one of the most noted. There are three initial carved into the buttstock as you can see in the pics.
