Identified Marine Corps Officer's Sword by Hilborn Hamburger Inc
Item #: FDR21-246
A historical Marine Corps presentation sword by the Hilborn Hamburger inc in scribed to Louis J. Caminiti. The sword itself is in decent condition. The blade itself is in remarkable condition with the etching in wonderful condition. You can clearly see the shield and floral motif along with the 'United States Marines' clearly visible. The name of 'Louis J Camaniti' is also visable. Underneath the guard on the ricasso is the name of the maker.
The scabbard is in good, but worn, condition. The brass has a nice toned down patina. As you can see the handle is browned. As you can see the sword knot is present. It comes with the original leather carrier and as you can see, it is in very rough condition. But more importantly, it has his initials on the cover.
When I looked up the name on the sword, I came up with LTC. Louis J. Camaniti.
