M1851 Belt Rig - Rock Island Arsenal
Item #: FDR21-376
A nice belt rig with a M1851 Eagle belt plate and Rock Island Arsenal marked belt. The plate has the silver applied wreath with a nice dark mellow patina. The plate is bench-marked in the upper corner '190'. The keeper is not marked, but matches up to the buckle nicely.
The belt looks really nice and is missing the sword hangers. It does retain the loops however. The adjustment hook is the correct type for Civil War era. What's really cool is that the belt is marked "Rock Island Arsenal" & "WTG" on the outside. On the inner part of the belt, near the adjustment hook is marked "3rd Battery" and a "31". Just a really nice belt rig overall, the first I have seen marked with a unit.
