M1836 Asa Waters Single Shot Pistol
Item #: FDR22-038
A wonderful example of the M1836 Asa Waters in good condition. The iron is smooth throughout with a nice light gun metal gray patina throughout. You can see the proof marks on the breech of the barrel. The only apology is the back strap is cracked. Action works and is tight. The interesting thing on this one is the hammer which has all the characteristics of a southern hammer.
The lock plate has the 'eagle motif / A. Waters / Milbury MS / 1840'. The wood shows the typical dings and mars from use, otherwise no repairs or damage. You can see the inspector's marks on the flat opposite the lock plate. Great example that was most likely Southern used. These were made between 1836-1844 with approximately 41,000 made.
