Scarce Colt Pocket Navy Revolver
Item #: FDR21-044
One you don't see for sale every day, a .36cal Colt Pocket Navy Revolver. The iron appears to have been cleaned at one point in its life, but is turning nicely with a gun metal gray patina throughout. The 5-1/2 inch barrel is marked on top with the New York Address. The action works, cylinder indexes, and hammer responds to the trigger. All nipples are present. The serial number is 8706 which gives it an 1862 production date. SN is all matching, even the wedge.
The walnut grips are in good condition with no repairs or damage noted. The brass trigger guard and back strap has a nice mellow patina. The only real apology is the wedge screw which appears to be a contemporary replacement. All of the stampings are seen throughout. There are remnants of the scene still on the cylinder.
