Item #: FDR-69
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a beautiful example of a Confederate Artillery Sword. This gladiator style weapon were used by Confederate Artilleryman throughout the Civil War. This pattern is attributed to the Boyle & Gamble firm of Richmond, Virginia. The firm of Boyle (Edward), Gamble (Thomas), & McFee (Edward) was located on 6th Street in Richmond, Virginia just one block from the Richmond Armory.

The solid cast brass handle has a nice patina throughout and the ping is smooth. The blade has the 3/4 fuller on both sides of the blade, which gives the appearance of an early battlefield recovery. There are some dings in the blade, as seen in the images, but otherwise the sword is solid and stable. There is no scabbard accompanying the sword.
