Identified 2nd Ohio Badge

Super cool identified shield badge from the 2nd Ohio Heavy Artillery. The badge retains the pin back. On the top rung, flanked by two American Flags is "Co. M", the second rung is "2nd Ohio" and the shield portion of the badge has "Vol H.A." which stands for Volunteer Heavy Artillery. At the bottom is the soldier's name, John Haskins.

Company M of the unit mustered in on the 9th of September, 1863. Company M moved to Munfordville, Ky., 18 September 1863, and garrison duty at Fort Willich until 10 January 1864, and at Fort Taylor, Camp Nelson, until 26 May. Moved to Cleveland, Tenn., 26 May. Duty at Cleveland, Tenn., until October 1864 (Companies A, E, H, I, L, and M).

John Haskins was 18 years old when he enlisted as a private on August 5th, 1863. After the war, he lived in South Haven, Michigan. Will include some information with this piece.
